Donald Trump Makes A U-Turn, Denies US Involvement in Israeli Strike on Iran's Gas Field

 Donald Trump

Awarenessinfo media has gathered the news that in a dramatic turn of events, President Donald Trump has denied any United States involvement in Israel's strike on Iran's South Pars gas field, the world's largest natural gas deposit.

The gas field, shared by Iran and Qatar, has been a point of contention in the region, with about one-third of the field belonging to Iran and the rest to Qatar.

The strike, reportedly carried out without US consent or coordination, has sparked retaliatory Iranian missile attacks on energy facilities in Saudi Arabia and Qatar's Ras Laffan complex, the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) production facility.

The complex, located 80 kilometers northeast of Doha, produces about 20% of the world's LNG supply, playing a crucial role in balancing Asian and European markets' demand for the fuel.

The conflict has sent shockwaves through the global energy market, with Brent crude oil prices surging by 6.24% to $114.08 per barrel, the highest since May 2022. In a Truth Social post, Trump criticized the attacks, blaming the extent of damage on lack of information.

"Israel, out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East, has violently lashed out at a major facility known as South Pars Gas Field in Iran. A relatively small section of the whole has been hit," Trump said. "The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen".

Trump warned that there will be "NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL" on Iran's gas field unless Iran decides to attack Qatar.

He added that if Iran does attack Qatar, the US will "massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before".

The CEO of Qatar Energy, Saad al-Kaabi, said Iran's attacks damaged facilities that produce 17% of the company's LNG exports, adding that it will take three to five years to repair them.
