Awarenessinfomedia has gathered that a brutal attack on the palace of the traditional ruler of Agamo community, in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, has left the monarch, Oba Kehinde Jacob Faledon, dead.
The assailants, estimated to be six in number, invaded the palace on Wednesday night and forcibly took the monarch away, later found with gunshot injuries near his residence.
The Ondo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the killing, with efforts underway to track down and arrest the perpetrators. According to Jimoh Abayomi, the Ondo police spokesperson, a community representative contacted the police shortly after the attack, and the command has mobilized officers in collaboration with local hunters, Atuluse Security, and Amotekun operatives to comb the surrounding bushes and neighboring communities.
The police have also strengthened monitoring activities to ensure the safety of residents and prevent a breakdown of law and order. The motive behind the attack is still unclear, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the monarch's death.
The killing of Oba Faledon has sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for peace and calm as investigations continue. The traditional ruler was a respected leader in the community, and his death is a significant loss.
