Awarenessinfomedia has gathered that President Bola Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to forgive him if he has sinned against them, emphasizing the importance of unity, peace, and moral renewal as the country observes Ramadan. The president made the appeal on Wednesday during the opening of this year's Tafsir at the State House mosque in Abuja.

Tinubu highlighted the coincidence of Ramadan with the Christian season of Lent, noting that it serves as a reminder of shared values such as sacrifice, discipline, prayer, and self-denial. "Ramadan coincides with Lent, reminding us of our common commitment to sacrifice, discipline, prayer, and self-denial," he said.

The president urged Nigerians to forgive him if he has sinned against them, saying, "I say, if I have sinned, forgive me as Nigerians." He emphasized that fasting should go beyond physical abstinence, embodying kindness, forgiveness, good deeds, and love for humanity.

Tinubu also called on Nigerians to pray for peace and support efforts against terrorism, banditry, and insecurity. He urged citizens across all religions to come together and promote unity and understanding.

Abdulwahid Suleiman, chief Imam of the State House mosque, thanked Allah for enabling Muslims to witness another Ramadan. He lauded Tinubu's leadership and prayed for wisdom, good health, and strength for the president and his team, while beseeching peace, stability, and prosperity for all Nigerians.

As Muslims begin the holy month of Ramadan, Tinubu's message emphasizes the importance of kindness, forgiveness, and unity. The president's appeal for forgiveness and call for peace and security reflects his commitment to building a better Nigeria.
