Iran Gives Terms And Conditions for US Negotiations After Trump’s Threat

Awarenessinfomedia has gathered that the Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has announced that the country is willing to engage in negotiations with the United States, but only if the talks are conducted in a "suitable environment" free from threats and unreasonable expectations.

This development comes after US President Donald Trump threatened to intervene in Iran over its nuclear program and deadly crackdown on protesters.

Pezeshkian's statement, made on Tuesday, emphasized that any negotiations would be guided by Iran's national interests. He has instructed Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to pursue fair and equitable talks, following requests from "friendly governments in the region" to respond to a US proposal for talks.

Trump's threats to intervene in Iran have escalated tensions between the two nations. In June 2025, the US bombed three nuclear sites in Iran, claiming to have "obliterated" the country's nuclear program. However, Tehran has dismissed these claims, and the whereabouts of Iran's highly enriched uranium remain unknown.

Talks between the US and Iran are set to resume in Istanbul on Friday, with Araghchi and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff leading the negotiations. Regional powers, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey, are also involved in diplomatic efforts.

The negotiations will likely focus on Iran's nuclear program, including its uranium enrichment activities and ballistic missile development. The US has demanded that Iran halt its nuclear enrichment, while Tehran insists on its right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy.

The upcoming talks are seen as a crucial opportunity to ease tensions and prevent a wider conflict. However, significant challenges remain, and the outcome is far from certain. As Pezeshkian emphasized, Iran's national interests will guide its approach to the negotiations.
